Works drawn from indeed original materials

poor pieces of wood returned from the sea weaves

inert, lived, marked by time,

only apparently dead, ended and useless

they find again in reality, through the eyes of the Artist who searches their soul,

dignity and thickness, new volumes, warmth of faces and sensuality of bodies

of shipwrecked persons brought back to life

with thousands lived histories and thousands to tell.

But Machis and Maria do more, they play, they inquire, they experiment

Destructurating and reinterpretating the shapes

trying to pick that intimate essence that is already in the material

wood, stone or sponge

as a permanent mark in the same nature of  things

until the point, and also well beyond, to renew themselves as newly "Geppetti Masters”

there was that wooden puppet, always had been

  and there was also that face

and also that boat slipped out from the dream of a child
