Villa Mertiza, apartments and studios

Myrtos is a small and pretty village situated in one of the few non-windy areas of the island of Crete.

The village faces the Libyan Sea to the south

and is not affected by the strong summer Meltemi winds

blowing from the north

due to the natural screen of the impressive

Aleikos Panorama has 3 apartments and 1 studio

mountain of Mount Dikti that with its 2.128 meters is the third highest peak of the island.

The climate of Myrtos, thanks to this really lucky position, it's definitely sub-tropical therefore mild and with pleasant temperatures for a large part of the year.

In the area and in narrow valleys that follow the west coast, toward the villages of Vatos, Tertsa,

Sindona and until Arvi, it will not be difficult to find productive plantations of bananas, grown outdoors without any protection precisely due of this rare and unusual microclimate.

Myrtos, which has a resident population of about 400 inhabitants, has a dozen restaurants, some caffenio, two small supermarket, a butcher, a baker and some shops of handicrafts and tourist souvenirs that you will find in its narrow colorful and traditional alleys.

Here you encounter a tourism in search of tranquility, that does not like noisy discos (in the village there are none!) and the chaotic life of super crowded tourist centers, but who appreciate color, rhythms and flavors of the traditional Greek islands.

The small fishermen pier, where you can find the freshly caught fish, the walk at sunset on the beautiful seafront, between taverns fragrant of cumin and oregano, and in the alleys, among white and blue houses adorned of blooming bouganvillee, and the caffenii with the olders committed to savor their greek coffee while playing cards or tavlis are the reality of a regenerating holiday in this place.

But here there is not only this, the village also offers many different trekking paths (such as through the gorges of Sarakina departing from the nearby Mithia) dedicated to those who have desire to discover the beautiful landscapes of Crete and for the lovers of water sports offers also a sailing school.

Scuola di vela e noleggio windsurf, kayak, Optimist, Hobie Cat, catamarani, Pirat e gommoni a motore Zodiac.

Myrtos is about 16 kilometers from Ierapetra and 50 km from Agios Nikolaus.
