Agia Irini

it’s a

tiny village,

without electricity,

uninhabited

for most

of the year

except during

the harvest of the olives during wintertime and in August because some of the old inhabitants have returned for the summer holidays.

Lovely the view from the terraces rich of olive groves and Mediterranean plants; not to be missed the fountain of pure water and the small church built inside a cave.

The pebble beach and the crystal like bay are accessible by a path-road that runs through the gorge and the dry bed of a river full of wild oleanders. It’s possible to equip a rustic barbecue on the beach near to the only fishermen hut.

All to be discovered the sea caves! At easy swim reach on the right side of the bay.

If you clik the small photos you will get a better idea on the environment you will find at

Agia Irini ............

Agia Irini  is reachable in about 40 minutes drive from Xerocampos (better by jeep 4x4 since from the fork of Hametoulo the road has no asphalt and is in pretty bad condition).

There is also a footpath departing from Xerocampos (1h. walk), it starts from the south of the bay of Amatou leaving on the right the last houses on the hill; it is very panoramic but not well signaled and has some difficulties.
